Black Grouse / Norway This is an image of a displaying male Black Grouse at his "lekking" site - aka his display area. The birds use the same display grounds for their entire lives and this territory is closely guarded from rival males. They arrive at their lek really early in the morning to start displaying so I had to enter a hide during the previous afternoon and spend the night in the hide to be ready for the next mornings shooting. Camera: Nikon D3s, 600mm F4 lens with 2 x teleconverter. Settings: 1/500s @ f11, iso 1100, -0.5 exposure compensation...
