From Brendon:

We really wanted to find a leopard this morning and as we left the Lodge we picked up some fresh leopard tracks.

This is surely Salayexe's prints we decided and followed them. The tracks became fresher and fresher as we followed them and after what felt like a very exciting and suspenseful time we found her.

The tracks did belong to Salayexe and we were able to get some lovely shots of her in the decent morning light.

We remained with her until the time came for  us to return to the Lodge for breakfast.

During the day a cold wind blew in and when we left for the afternoon drive we heard that four male lions had moved quite close from a neighbouring reserve, so we off we went to find them.

But before we reached that area we came across a large herd of elephants in the lovely afternoon light, just begging to be photographed. Wildebeest were sparring nearby watched by zebras who shook their heads and manes at the sight.

Still on our way to the four make lions we came across members of the Styx pride of lions. They had been in a fight last month and although they do not appear to be in great health, their wounds have healed and other than one missing male they are together. We followed them as they walked down the road to a water hole, where we managed to capture shots of them drinking together.

Finally we caught up with the four male lions. By now darkness had set in and out came the spotlights for pictures of the group walking down the road and then lying down in an open area for us to get pictures with lighting from all sides.

Tomorrow is the final morning for this safari and after seeing and photographing so much we are looking forward to a fabulous final drive ...
